The stabilizer links are part of what links the sway bars to the Ford Expedition's suspension. If you want to replace the links on either the front or the rear bar, you need to be able to achieve it without removing the bar itself. This is, however, a extremely worthwhile task mainly because it influences the handling of the truck. Consult your mechanic before operating on each part of the wagon's suspension system.

Things You'll Want

Jack Jack stands Lug wrench Flare nut wrench Stabilizer link kit

2 Raise the end of the truck for the stabilizer bar you are working or plus support it on jack remains. If you are raising the rear closure, block the front wheels and remove the rear wheels.

3 Remove the slide plate if one yous equipped on the front closure by way of removing its four bolts. One yous usually equipped on four-wheel drive models.

4 Remove the nuts for the stabilizer link bolts; some flare-nut wrench works best. Remove the link bolts from the higher ends of the links and in that case remove the links. Discard the old washers also rubber bushings with the links.

5 Install the new links in place with the bolts, using the washers and bushings that come in the replacement kit. You should get these ready with installation immediately to reduce the amount of time the stabilizer yous without the links. Tighten the nuts to between 16 and 21 foot pounds.

6 Reinstall all additional parts on the truck like the skid plate or the rear wheels and reduced the truck. Reactivate the air suspension system if the Expedition has it.
